Texel and Mottled Sheepskins
Cushy Blend of Natural Color
Thick and cushy fleece with firm loft and marked with splashes of natural color. These Mixed Mottled sheepskins are mostly of a Dutch Texel mix.
The mottled patterns are earthy browns and muted grays across a creamy base. The wool length is usually around a cushy 4 inches with good loft.
These sheepskins are great for all uses. Each has a unique color pattern, yet they work together well to make a set.

Earthy tones for all your sheepskin needs.
Sheepskins from Texel sheep and their mixes have been meeting household needs for centuries. Originally bred on the windswept Dutch island of Texel, this hardy breed developed a dense, resilient fleece that stands up to heavy use. Texel wool tends to be springy and compact, offering excellent loft and cushion. When these genetics are combined with those of other European breeds, the result is a sheepskin that retains Texel’s structure and introduces natural mottling and color variations -- an ideal combination for rugs, throws, and seating.
Before synthetic fabrics and central heating, families used sheepskins to line beds, warm benches, soften wooden chairs, or comfort infants. In colder climates, a durable sheepskin wasn’t a luxury -- it was essential. The natural loft of the wool is excellent insulation, while the leather side is a barrier against drafts and cold surfaces. Certain breeds were favored and maintained with household needs in mind.
Sheepskins never go out of style. We still love them for the same reasons. A sheepskin rug brings comfort to a hardwood floor, cozies up a reading nook, or softens a nursery space. Wool regulates temperature and resists odors. A sheepskin is multifunctional across all seasons. The Texel mixed sheepskins in this collection great for anything you need in a sheepskin. They’re thick and well shaped to cushion lumpy or hard furniture, yet soft to touch with bare skin.
